Notable Expeditions
Cordillera Huayhuash Circuit
Considered quite challenging and undoubtedly far more demanding than the famous Inca Trail, the Huayhuash Circuit spans 30 km of central Peru, including seven peaks over 6000 m high. The circuit typically takes between 10-14 days, but I got off the trail on day 9 due to my broken neck.
Torres Del Paine “O” Circuit
This difficult 6-10 day loop is comprised of the “W” section of the circuit, plus the more remote backside. This renowned Patagonian hike is approximately 110 km in length with optional side hikes. I hiked this circuit in April during the off season allowing me to move at a brisk 6 day pace without delays and with minimal interruptions.
Mt. Kilimanjaro Summit
Located in Tanzania, Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain in the world. Measuring in at 5,895 m (19,341 ft) above sea level it takes on average 5-14 days to reach the summit. I crested the summit on July 29,2015 at 6:25am just in time to watch a spectacular sunrise.
